The North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) is seeking art from Piedmont Community College’s students, alumni, and employees for permanent display in its Raleigh headquarters. The NCCCS issued the call for art from all 58 North Carolina community colleges for the exhibit which will “illustrate the work, mission and passion of our colleges.”

Since 1998, the NCCCS Office has sponsored a statewide exhibition of artwork submitted by North Carolina’s community colleges. It is now moving from an annual exhibit to a permanent collection that will continue to illustrate the work, mission and passion of North Carolina community colleges. In March 2015, the NC Community Colleges Art Collection, made up entirely of permanent artwork from the colleges, will be on display through the six-story Caswell Building, located at 200 W. Jones St., Raleigh.

Piedmont Community College (PCC) is currently seeking submissions via e-mail through Nov. 14. PCC may submit up to four pieces of art that meet the qualifications specified by the NCCCS. The exhibit will include work that represents the student and/or staff life at community colleges, such as photos or original artwork that depicts students, student activities or faculty and staff at work.

Entries must be framed or canvas art work (no larger than 60” in any direction). All two-dimensional media suitable for use in a public office building will be considered, including but not limited to painting, drawing, graphic design, photography and computer design.

Entries will be accepted by e-mail only no later than Friday, Nov. 14. To enter, you must submit a jpg file of your entry along with the following information: artist name, status at PCC (student, alumni, faculty, staff), artist’s address, phone number, and e-mail. You must also provide the following information about your entry: title, medium, dimensions, price/value (required for insurance purposes). E-mails should be sent to: artentry@piedmontcc.edu.

For more information, call (336) 322-2104.
