Piedmont Community College’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center (BDEC) will hold a free seminar, “How to Write an Effective Business Plan,” on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 6-9 p.m. at the BDEC, 105 N. Main St., Roxboro. Mary Speight of the Small Business and Technology Development Center, NC Central University, Durham, will be the presenter.

Seminar topics will include: questions to answer to prepare your plan, goal setting, doing your own market research, developing sales forecasts and breakeven analyses, preparing your marketing plan, developing financial statements and ratios, preparing the executive summary and understanding what banks are looking for.

Although the seminar will be offered at no cost to participants, registration is required. To register, call the BDEC at (336) 599-0032.
