Piedmont Community College will offer the Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) training course, which will be held Sept. 22-Oct. 15. The class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday with a lunch break from 12-12:30 p.m.

This course will teach industry specific skills necessary to become a Certified Logistics Technician. Certified Logistics Technicians are responsible for the complete lifecycle of a product, including gaining, delivery, internal distribution, and final disposal of resources. Students will apply critical thinking to solve warehouse and distribution situations and determine proper material handling techniques. This certification provides students with the mid-level practical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core proficiencies, including product receiving, product storage, order processing, packaging and shipment, inventory control, safe handling of hazardous materials, evaluation of transportation modes, customs, and dispatch and tracking operations.

The CLT training provides two credentials; Certified Logistics Associate and a mid-level Certified Logistics Technician. These certificates meet the national skills demand which prepares individuals for frontline material handling work in factories, warehouses, distribution centers and transporters.

To enroll in the training, contact PCC’s Workforce Development Department at (336) 322-2133 for information. Financial assistance is available to qualified unemployed, underemployed, and economically distressed individuals.

The CLT program is being offered through PCC’s Workforce Certification Academy and sponsored by the College’s Workforce Development and Occupational Extension Programs.
