Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course beginning in August at the Workforce Training Center, 303 S. Morgan St., Roxboro. The course will be held Aug. 18 – Dec. 13, Monday and Thursdays, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and some Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m
Students who successfully complete both the 196-hour course and the required 24-hours of clinical will be eligible to sit for the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services EMT examination.
Pre-registration is required. The registration fee is $180, and the malpractice fee is $8. A textbook is required and is available for purchase from the College Bookstore. Deadline to register is Friday, Aug. 15, by 4 p.m.
Prospective students should bring official documentation of high school or high school equivalency graduation to the first night of class. A reading assessment will be administered the first night of class in which all students must attain at least a 10th grade reading level.
