Registration is currently open for the 2014 Youth Entrepreneurship Camp, sponsored by Piedmont Community College’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center (BDEC). The camp will be held June 23-27 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on PCC’s Person County Campus.
The week-long camp will introduce students to the concept of entrepreneurship as a career opportunity. Students will work together to create and name a business, develop a product line, and market their business through business cards, flyers, billboards and a commercial. Local business leaders will share their knowledge, expertise and advice. Students will also have the chance to visit a local manufacturing facility to get a first-hand view of the production process. At the conclusion of camp, students will present their business ideas to a panel.
The camp is offered at no cost to participants. Registration, which includes a camp T-shirt and lunch each day, is open to the first 20 aspiring entrepreneurs. For more information, contact Charlene Wilson at 599-0032, ext. 206 or charlene.wilson@piedmontcc.edu.
The camp is sponsored by Piedmont Community College and the BDEC with partners Diamond Candles and Furniture Mart and in-kind contributors Golden Corral and Pepsi.
