Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) Learning Resources Centers will kick of National Library Week, April 13-19, with a book signing by local author Marion Woods on Monday, April 14. The reading will be held from 11 a.m.-noon on the Person County Campus, Building H, Room 101. Woods will read from her children’s book, “Uncle Jerden’s Farm.”

Woods, who was born on a North Carolina farm, uses her comedy and wisdom to bring together the story of Leann’s joys on the farm in her book. She also has made ceramic dolls of the characters in her book and will have these as well as coloring books at the reading. The book is the first in a series of children’s books about childhood adventures on the farm.

She owned a beauty salon for over 20 years and also taught cosmetology for 15 years, most recently at PCC.

The event is open to the public.
