A free study program to help you prepare to earn your High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma is available through Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) Adult Basic Skills program. The College’s two new study options include:
• “Take Out Instruction” with take home learning packets
• Online classes

The free learning packet is a paper-based instruction that will be mailed to students selecting this option on a weekly basis. Students should return the completed packet weekly to the Adult Basic Skills Team at the College.

The free online option requires that the student have access to an internet connection using either a desk top computer, laptop computer, or mobile device. This option allows participating students to access the material at their convenience, 24 hours a day, seven days a week!

In addition, PCC offers hot spot areas in Building P, S, & T parking lots and two computer labs (one on each campus) where a space can be reserved in two hour blocks by calling (336) 599-1181 (Person County Campus) or (336) 694-5707 (Caswell County Campus).

How to get started:
PCC’s Adult Basic Skills Team will offer free orientation appointments for small groups of new students at a time. Included in the orientation will be a placement test session to help students begin the study program. There is no charge for the placement testing session or the study program.

Appointments will be offered starting the week of June 8 at both the Person County Campus and the Caswell County Campus. To schedule your appointment:
1) Call (336) 322-2155 in Person County or (336) 694-8057 in Caswell County or
2) Complete the Adult Basic Skills registration application found at www.piedmontcc.edu/abs under “Contact”.

To ensure safety, social distancing will be practiced during the orientation and placement test sessions. In addition, participants will be asked a series of COVID-19 health related questions and be asked to wear a face covering while in the classroom. If you do not have one, one will be provided to you.

Get started on free classes to earn your High School Equivalency diploma at PCC!
