In 2019, Carrie A. Bowers was named Alumnus of the Year. Bowers graduated from PCC’s Associate Degree Nursing program in 2012 and has worked for UNC Healthcare in the Pediatric ICU and Carolina Air Care unit where she assesses and cares for the critically ill neonatal and pediatric patient population.

While working full-time, Bowers continued her studies, earning a Masters of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Primary Care (PNP-PC), in 2018. She has also continued her service to the community with the Person County Rescue Squad, where she has been a member since 2009.

Bowers is also a member of the North Carolina Nurses Association and the American Nurses Association, and certified by the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

All 2020 nominations are due to PCC’s Alumni Partnership office by Friday, April 10. The award announcement will be made during PCC’s Honors Convocation event on April 28 and the candidate will have the opportunity to address the College’s graduating class on May 15, 2020.
