Medication Technician


Med Tech prepares unlicensed personnel to take the North Carolina Adult Care Medication Test that enables them to give medications in adult care homes, assisted living facilities and group homes. Course content includes 15 hours of skills training required by State of North Carolina.

1.  Tuition: The registration fee is $70. 

2.  Optional Student Accident Insurance: $.90, paid with registration fee when requested by the student. 

3.  Textbook: The Med Tech class does not require a textbook. All materials are provided to the student in class. The student will have to provide their own 1 ½” binder and divider tabs.

4.  DHSR: $25 State competency exam, certified check or money order must be mailed with the application. The competency exam is held in Raleigh or Thomasville, NC.

Registering for Continuing Education Courses is fast and easy! You can register in person, online, or by mailing your payment with registration form. 

  1. Review the available classes. You will need the course start and end dates, course title, and course location.
  2. To register in person, come to the Workforce Development office on the Person or Caswell County Campus to complete the registration form and pay your registration fee.

Once received, you will receive an email with payment instructions from Lori Watlington. Payment must be received within 48 hours of submitting registration form. If payment has not been received, your registration will be voided and you will have to re-submit.

    Download the Continuing Education Registration Form and fill out all items. You will need one form for each course you wish to take. Mail completed registration form(s) with check or money order to:
