SGA Speaker Series – Bertrend Poole

Bertrend Poole is a native of Person County and a graduate of Person Senior High School. He earned his BA in History at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro North Carolina. He is the oldest of four children and the proud Uncle of three nieces and one nephew. Mr. Poole is currently employed with the Person County School system at Southern Middle School where is serves as the ISS coordinator and the advisor to the Men of Distinction program. He has been in his current position for twenty –five years. He serves as the President of the Person County Alumni Chapter of North Carolina A&T and as the Student Recruitment Chairperson of the chapter. He is a certified alumni recruiter for the University and serves on several different committees for the National Alumni Association of A&T.

Mr. Poole’s motto is “ If I can help someone along the way then my living is not in vain”. He believes that getting the most out of life is not how much you keep to yourself but how much you pour into others. He feels that his greatest accomplishment is when a former student comes back and tells him THANK YOU, because something he did or said instilled in them the desire to strive to become a successful and productive young man in society.
