Certified Production Technician begins
Polywood guarantees interview to all PCC Certified Production Technician completers; next session offered February 10
Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer the Certified Production Technician (CPT) training February 10 – March 31. This class will meet from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday on the Person County Campus.
PCC’s Certified Production Technician training offers industry-recognized credentials designed by the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council and extends certificates in the following areas:
• Safety Awareness
• Manufacturing Processes
• Quality Practices
• Maintenance Awareness
Successful students gain skills in manufacturing processes and are prepared for employment in entry-level positions in the manufacturing field. In addition, students earn the OSHA-10 Safety certification.
Many local manufacturing companies have vacancies and are looking for new candidates to hire.
In fact, Meredith Summey of Polywood said the company “guarantees any graduate of the CPT program an interview at their facility.” She went on to say “Polywood offers that guarantee because we are fully confident that the CPT program at PCC has prepared them [the students] to be an excellent employee that they have the skills set and professional preparation to be an employee that will excel.”
Financial assistance is available for the February session. To quality, the student must enroll in PCC’s Employability Lab at the BDEC, available any Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and fulfill the requests lab tasks.
