Logistics & Forklift Training begins
Logistics and Forklift training available at PCC
Piedmont Community College (PCC) will offer the Logistics and Forklift training on October 14 – December 19. This class will meet 10:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. on Mondays – Thursdays at PCC’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center, located at 105 North Main Street in Roxboro,
This vital training leads to a national credential through the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC).
Walmart Grocery Distribution Center and MSSC have collaborated to employ applicants who have secured a foundational-level MSSC Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) certification or mid-level technical MSSC Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certification.
This certification pledges the mid-level practical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core proficiencies, including:
• Product receiving
• Product storage
• Order processing
• Packaging and shipment
• Inventory control
• Safe handling of hazardous materials
• Evaluation of transportation modes
• Customs
• Dispatch and tracking operations
The CLT training provides four credentials:
• Certified Logistics Associate
• Mid-level Certified Logistics Technician
• OSHA-10
• OSHA-Forklift
These certificates meet the national skills demand which prepares you for frontline material handling work in factories, warehouses, distribution centers and transporters.
