BioWork Process Technician course begins

Train for a career as a BioWork Process Technician in 16 weeks at PCC

Earn a certificate that is in high demand through Piedmont Community College’s (PCC) 16-week BioWork course. For a total investment of less than $325 (registration and textbook), students will earn marketable skills for manufacturing technicians in the Biotech field.

BioWork Process Technicians are involved in the making of products such as antibiotics, bleach, cosmetics, deodorant, detergents, paint, plastics, Post-It notes, shampoo, soft drinks, and wine.

Course work will include the following instruction:
• Working Safely
• Quality
• Measuring Process Variables
• Transforming Matter (Chemistry)
• Learning the Nuts & Bolts
• Controlling the Process
• Sterile Processes (Microbiology)
• Growing Living Cells (Cell Biology)
• Job Seeking Skills
• Your New Job

This 16-week BioWork course at PCC will be on Tuesday evenings beginning October 1. Class will meet 5:30-9:30 p.m. on the College’s Person County Campus and includes 60-hours of classroom instruction and additional online instruction. Students will also have the opportunity for local industry tours.
