The Wiz – a Roxboro Little Theater Production
Directed by Fred Motley. Time to follow the Yellow Brick Road; The Wiz is skipping to the Kirby! Join Dorothy Gale, Tin Man, Scarecrow and Lion as they adventure their way through the wonderful and curious land of Oz. This famous retelling of “The Wizard of Oz”, brings a classic tale into a new context, infusing the original story with elements from 1970s African American culture. With re-imagined characters, music, and costumes, the Wiz is an exciting journey about finding inner courage, strength and the meaning of friendship.
Workshop: August 17th (10 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
Audition Dates: August 19th & 20th (must be 16+ to audition)
Production Dates: November 15th & 16th at 7:30 p.m., November 17th at 3 p.m.
