**Please note: Class is limited to 10 students for the Summer 2024 course. The first 10 students to register will take these seats; others placed on a waiting list.


COURSE FEES FOR NURSE AIDE I:

  • $189 Registration
  • $140 Exam
  • $62.98 Blood Pressure Cuff & Stethoscope Kit
  • $103.28 Textbook (optional); Mosby’s Textbook for Nursing Assistants, 10th Edition; ISBN: 9780323655606

DOCUMENTATION – to be presented on the first day of class:

  • Tuberculosis test (TB test) results; must have a test done—a screening will not be accepted. 
  • Signed Social Security Card:  Original card must be presented, not a copy.  If you have lost your Social
    Security Card, please apply for a new card immediately.
  • Picture ID:  Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID.
  • Government-issued ID and Social Security Card must match.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Attendance Policy: Students who miss more than 8 hours are dropped from the class (this includes tardies).  Student absences are not excused for any reason.
  • Physical Ability: Nurse Aide I is a hands-on skills course. Students must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.  Please be sure you do not have any restrictions preventing you from this ability as it applies to both lab and clinical.


FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:

  • Scholarships may be available for Person or Caswell County residents. If funds are available, detailed information will be sent to students in the payment instructions after students have registered for the course. Do not apply for a scholarship until you have been provided the information from the Director.
  • Students may contact an outside agency for assistance. These agencies will pay for most of the course fees. Please click here for contact information.

Outlook for Employment

Graduates of this curriculum may be eligible to be listed on the registry as a Nurse Aide I. They may be employed in home health agencies, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, extended care facilities, and doctors’ offices.
