Overview

The Human Services Technology Social Service concentration curriculum prepares students for direct service delivery work in social service agencies. The curriculum enables students to link theory with practice through interactive classroom activities developing a skill-based academic foundation (click on the link below for a list of required courses and additional information)

Employment Outlook

Graduates should qualify for employment with local, county, state, and federal government social service agencies. Employment includes family and child assistance, rehabilitation health services, medical assistance, youth services, aging, and developmentally disabled programs in public and private settings.


Admission Process

-Submit a completed Application for Admission to the Office of Admissions

-Submit official transcript(s) of high school course work to the Office of Admissions

-Official GED scores or transcript of course for the Adult High School Diploma may be submitted in lieu of the high school transcript.

-Complete the Admission Placement Test

-Consult with the office of Admissions for further details and/or questions related to the admission process.

Mailed Brochure

The printed format is a combined brochure for both Curriculum classes and Continuing Education courses available for the Spring 2018 semester. The printed brochure will be available starting on November 1 on both campuses and other locations in both Person and Caswell Counties. They will also be mailed to over 27,000 homes in both counties.

The web format is the same as the WebAdvisor format, except all classes are listed alphabetically on one single webpage. For more information on a specific class, please contact the appropriate advisor or you can find additional information within WebAdvisor

 

2018 Spring Curriculum Schedule on WebAdvisor

WebAdvisor offers a secure web interface that allows you to access the class schedule on PCC’s Datatel Colleague system. If you are not a current PCC student, you can view the upcoming semester’s class schedule. This allows you to look up course sections and plan out your schedule. If you are a current PCC student, you may register for classes online using the Colleague system. This option provides the most up-to-date information about classes being offered and the number of available seats at the time you view the schedule. Click here to visit WebAdvisor.
