Free short-term camps for rising 9-12 grade students available at PCC this summer

Piedmont Community College (PCC) invites high school students to participate in free, hands-on summer activities this year to help them learn about various programs of study and career options! Those participating will discover the world of welding, health sciences, cosmetology, animation, film and video, mechatronics, and criminal justice through interactive experiences with PCC faculty while on the college campuses.

Based on current weather reports for this week, the location of Piedmont Community College’s 2018 Commencement Ceremony will be held in the Person High School Gymnasium

Doors will be open for seating at 6 p.m. Graduates participating in the ceremony should arrive by 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

Brianna Wrenn wins first place in competition at 53rd Annual SkillsUSA North Carolina Leadership and Skills Conference

Piedmont Community College Career and College Promise student Brianna Wrenn earned first place in the Skills USA Hair Color Contest during the recent Leadership and Skills Conference. The 53rd annual conference was held at the Koury Convention Center and the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, NC in April.

Piedmont Community College graduates to hear from former PCC Trustee, Donald Wilson, at ceremony on May 18

During the ceremony, students and guests will hear from Michael Chaney, 2018 PCC Alumnus of the Year and Donald Wilson, former member and chairman of PCC’s Board of Trustees and long-time support of the College and the community. During the ceremony, Wilson, along with PCC President Dr. Pamela Senegal, will award the North Carolina Community College System Office Academic Excellence Award to a Piedmont Community College graduate.

PCC Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society gains 34 members for academic year

An induction ceremony was held at Piedmont Community College for the Alpha Upsilon Theta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society on April 27. Thirty-four students became new members of the honor society and PCC chapter for the 2017-18 academic year.
