Piedmont Community College Foundation announces scholarship opportunities for summer and fall students

The PCC Foundation will be accepting scholarship applications for summer and early fall scholarships opportunities from March 15 – April 15. A second round of awards will be available for fall funding closer to the start of the semester. Spring scholarship applications are also available later in the year.

Upcoming fundraisers for the Gary Ray Davis Emergency Medical Services Scholarship to benefit Emergency Medical Service students at Piedmont Community College

Established in 2015, the Gary Ray Davis EMS scholarship was created to provide a financial opportunity for individuals interested in the Emergency Medical Services profession and pursuing a career in his/her community. The fundraising committee will hold two events - a golf tournament and a memorial ride - in an effort to raise additional funds and awareness.

UNCG bringing RN to BSN program to Piedmont Community College

Piedmont Community College is partnering with The University of North Carolina at Greensboro to bring a world-class RN to BSN program closer to the nurses who serve the area. The partnership will provide a seamless transition for registered nurses with associate’s degrees to earn a bachelor’s degree from UNCG while bypassing the one hour and 15 minute drive to Greensboro.

Duncan, former PCC Student Ambassador, named 2016 Alumnus of the Year

Duncan received his accounting degree in 1994 from Piedmont Community College and now serves as vice president of operations at Twinings North America, located in Greensboro. He still gives his time and expertise to the PCC Alumni Partnership as a member of the scholarship committee and advisory board.

Secretary of State Elaine Marshall to speak at event honoring academic success of Piedmont Community College Students

Students will be recognized for their academic success at Piedmont Community College during the 2016 Honors Convocation ceremony, Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m. on the Person County Campus. The theme of the event is “Excellence without Excuse” and the event is open to the public.

Former Cosmetology Instructor remembered with scholarship at Piedmont Community College

For 25 years Leona Aldridge devoted her professional career to Piedmont Community College. During these years she took every opportunity to continue her education and share her knowledge with the students. The Arc of Person County endows scholarship for PCC students

The earnings from this scholarship endowment will support second year PCC students who are enrolled in one of the following programs: Early Childhood Associate, Human Services Technology, Associate Degree Nursing, Medical Assisting, Criminal Justice Technology, or College Transfer program with plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the field of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities.
