Partnership between Piedmont Community College and Pfeiffer University expands educational and financial opportunities for those seeking higher education
A new collaborative effort between Piedmont Community College and Pfeiffer University
will provide educational opportunities to any student and/or employee of Piedmont Community College, as well as citizens of Person and Caswell Counties.
Piedmont Community College President, Dr. Walter Bartlett, and Pfeiffer University President, Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, announced an agreement on Tuesday, March 8 that will make it easier for students to transfer to Pfeiffer University to complete a bachelor’s degree in:
• Criminal Justice (online)
• Health Administration (online)
• RN to BSN (online)
• Business Management and Leadership (online)
• Human Relations (Charlotte)
The articulation agreement also provides opportunities for college employees and community members to earn a Bachelor’s degree in one of the aforementioned fields of study at a 20% discount if they earned their associate’s degree at PCC.
Those seeking to earn a graduate level degree have a similar opportunity. When working with a Pfeiffer University representative at PCC, students can earn a discount of 20% off the cost of tuition in one of the following disciplines:
• Master of Business Administration (online or Charlotte)
• Master of Business Administration with the Master of Science Leadership (Raleigh or online)
• Master of Arts in Teaching (online)
“I am really excited about this collaboration,” shared Keith. “At Pfeiffer, we are expanding our online presence and seated presence. With our undergraduate and graduate programs I really think we can offer a great opportunity for PCC students. This agreement makes higher education more affordable and accessible.”
A Pfeiffer delegate will be available at PCC on Thursday, March 17, and Wednesday, April 27, in Building E from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Future dates will be listed on the PCC website calendar, located at http://www.piedmontcc.edu/Calendar
Community residents can visit PCC’s Person County Campus to meet with a Pfeiffer Representative even if he/she has not completed an Associate’s degree at the college.
“During our most recent str
ategic planning session, community members requested more opportunities for bachelor and master degree programs. This agreement assists us in moving in the right direction,” commented Bartlett. “We are very appreciative to Pfeiffer University for their partnership in opening the door to future success for PCC students, employees, and community members.”
Courses offered as face to face/hybrid on PCC’s Person County Campus by certified instructors if a cohort of 12 or more students are interested in beginning at the same time will also be discussed as a future possibility.
