You still have time to register for Fall Semester classes at Piedmont Community College, but you need to act now! Registration is scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, Aug. 13-15. Registration hours will be 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday. Classes begin Monday, Aug. 18.

PCC has nearly 40 different programs of study leading to degrees, diplomas, or certificates. New programs include Historic Preservation, a program providing instruction in both preservation theory and hands-on practice. Course work includes archival research, building design, drafting, conservation techniques, building renovation, field data collection, historic preservation, documentation, sustainable building design, and the application of preservation law.

Also new is a Health Science diploma program offering three study tracks: Nursing Assistant, Phlebotomy, and Medical Assisting.  Students in this program complete the required prerequisites for the Associate Degree Nursing and Medical Assisting programs and may become eligible for admittance to the associate degree programs Nursing or Medical Assisting.

Also in the medical field are new RN (Registered Nurse) to BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), allowing RNs to take prerequisite courses toward their bachelor’s degrees. The classes will be offered online or one day a week to allow flexibility for working adults.

PCC continues to offer University Transfer programs, giving students the opportunity to complete their first two years towards a four-year degree at PCC and then transfer as juniors through the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement between the NC Community College System and the University of North Carolina System and several other four-year colleges and universities.

PCC’s Career and Technical programs prepare students for employment. Students may earn Associate in Applied Science degrees, diplomas, or certificates in the fields of human services, health, science, and technical and manufacturing programs.

Registration has been ongoing for several weeks and will continue through Aug. 15. Returning students may register online using WebAdvisor. New students should visit the Student Development Office (Building E, Person County Campus and Building K, Caswell County Campus, where they will be assigned an academic advisor to assist them with counseling and registration. New students must have completed the application process before they may register for classes. They are encouraged to apply online at the PCC website: www.piedmontcc.edu.

Fall class schedules are also available online in several formats, including an interactive format that provides students with the most up-to-date class information such as the number of seats available in the class. Classes were mailed to homes in Person and Caswell counties and are also available at the public libraries in both counties and on PCC campuses. For more information on PCC’s Fall Semester registration or classes, contact the Student Development Office at (336) 322-2159.
