Piedmont Community College will offer Basic Upholstery on the Person County Campus beginning Saturday, Sept. 15. The course will be held on Saturdays, 8:30-11:30 a.m. through Nov. 17.

Students will learn the basics of how to upholster simple, small pieces of furniture such as ottomans, chairs or stools. Participants will practice removing existing fabric, staples and nails and how to add the new materials to the finished framework. Cost of materials depends on the project chosen. The project cannot remain in the classroom area between class sessions so the piece must be light enough to be moved back and forth to class easily.

Pre-registration is required. The registration fee is $69 and is payable to the College prior to the first class on Sept. 15.   For further information or to register, please call Phyllis Gentry at (336) 599-1181, ext. 2156 or Tammy Duncan at ext. 2261.
