Piedmont Community College student Morgan Ayers has been named the recipient of the first Art Guild of Person County Scholarship. Art Guild President Sara Sauls presented the award April 3 during an opening of PCC student art at the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex. The award includes a $250 scholarship and a one-year student membership in the Art Guild. The award was sponsored by Marlene Coulter and her late husband Ken.   Morgan, a 2011 graduate of Roxboro Community School, is a PCC art student and plans to transfer to UNC Greensboro after she graduates from PCC. At PCC, she has served as Vice President and President of the Creative Minds Club and volunteered at StepN2theArtZ, the annual PCC performing arts festival.

The Art Guild also presented student memberships to four PCC art students. They were Virginia Nix, Lance Cook, Ronnie Blevins, and Justin Ashley.
