Customized Training & Development for Today's Technology

Piedmont Community College offers:

    New & Expanding Industry Training (NEIT) Program

    The NEIT Program's purpose is to provide customized training assistance in support of new, full-time production employees, and their first-line supervisors. Qualified training programs are funded by the State with no fees to the company. The following are additional highlights of the NEIT Program.

  • Training to manufacturing industries creating 12 or more new jobs during a year, over and above their previous three-year maximum employment level.
  • No registration fee is required for training.
  • Instructors may include college personnel, third party contracts with equipment vendors or other resources or in many cases employees of your company are the most appropriate trainer. In such cases where company personnel are used as instructors, the company will be reimbursed that employee's normal rate of pay, not to exceed a maximum of $26.50 per hour.
  • Instruction can be provided at various times and places to meet industry specific needs.
  • Travel expenses for instructors may be allotted.
  • The NEIT Program provides training supplies, including books.
  • Customized training videos and training manuals to support NEIT Projects can be developed. The development cost may be on a shared cost basis dependant upon the companies capital investment and number of new jobs created.

  • FIT is a special training program for North Carolina's manufacturing industries. FIT uses individualized needs assessments, consultations to design and implement targeted, customized training for manufacturing industries who need to upgrade workers' skills because of technological or process advances.
  • The FIT Program's focus is on critical skills that change as technology changes. Customized instruction will be directed toward skilled and semi-skilled production workers, industrial maintenance workers and leaders of personnel who perform industrial processes.
  • FIT offers customized training to fit your operation. The following is a partial listing of recently offered customized courses:
