Piedmont Community College’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center (BDEC) will hold a free seminar series, “Entrepreneur Mindset…Your Formula for Success”, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, May 18, 19, and 20 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-2:30 p.m. each day. These free seminars will be held on the Person County Campus, 1715 College Drive, in Room D120.

Participants can register for individual seminars or all six to complete the series. To gain full knowledge of the startup and business operation process, you are encouraged to complete the entire series. The presenters will be Carol Andrews and Debbie Wright.

May 18

9:30-11:30 a.m. - Session 1 - The mindset of an entrepreneur and your business plan

12:30-2:30 p.m. - Session 2 - Legal compliance risks of starting a business; how to identify risks and why staring a business is worth the risk

May 19

9:30-11:30 a.m. - Session 3 - Financial planning; how to track money and potential funding sources

12:30-2:30 p.m. - Session 4 - Necessary forms for doing business; filing your business taxes; what is deductible; credits for my business; the benefits of being organized.

May 20

9:30-11:30 a.m. - Session 5 - All about branding; developing a team; marketing strategy and how it fits into the business plan

12:30-2:30 p.m. - Session 6 - People skills and how to build business relationships; create and maintain a thriving business plan

Carol has expertise in traditional and social media, branding and marketing, with 20+ years in Broadcast Journalist/TV News. Debbie has 30+ years nursing experience in the areas of development implementation and action plans. She is managing partner of her company, Breakthrough Access Solutions.
