Students will have more options to choose from during Piedmont Community College’s Summer Session this year, and students who want to take advantage of those opportunities may start registering for classes next week on April 29 and 30. Registration will be held from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. each day on the Person County Campus and the Caswell County Campus. While the main focus is on PCC’s Summer Session, registration also opens for Fall Semester classes next week.

Starting this summer, PCC will offer new Developmental Reading and English courses that have not been offered before. Developmental Math classes will also be offered. These self-paced courses prepare students for their degree programs, so the Summer Session offers a great opportunity to get a jump on their requirements and give students a strong college start in the fall.

A variety of University Transfer classes will also be offered. These classes help PCC students as well as other college students who may be home for the summer and want to take classes. Students who are enrolled in another college or university are encouraged to check with their institutions to make sure it meets their program requirements.

Nursing Assistant I will be offered on the Person County Campus this summer for the first time in a number of years. Technical classes in Welding, Gunsmithing, Electronics, and Industrial Systems Technology are also included in PCC’s expanded Summer Session.

Summer Session classes begin June 2 and end Aug. 2.

For a complete class schedule, go to PCC’s website at www.piedmontcc.edu using PCC’s computer schedule on WebAdvisor. To access both the Summer and Fall schedules, go the PCC website and select Class Schedules & College Catalog from the menu at the bottom of the main page. From there, choose Curriculum Class Schedule and scroll down to WebAdvisor and click on the WebAdvisor link. Once in WebAdvisor, select Prospective Student from the menu options, then Search for Sections, where you will be asked to select the semester schedule you wish to see. WebAdvisor provides the most complete course information and shows when classes are full or new classes are added.

Students may also use PCC’s website to register for classes on line. Students must first contact their academic advisor to obtain access to register.

For assistance with accessing class schedules or to talk to a counselor, apply for admission or financial aid, come to the Student Development office in Building E on the Person County Campus or Building K on the Caswell County Campus. Returning students should see their academic advisors. For admission information on the Person County Campus, call 322-2159, and for financial aid information, call 322-4004. In Caswell County, call 694-5707, ext. 226.
