Piedmont Community College will offer a course, Medication Administration Exam Prep for Unlicensed Personnel, on Fridays, April 13-May 4, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The instructor  will be Michelle Holland, R.N.  

The course is designed to instruct unlicensed personnel in adult care homes, assisted living facilities and group homes in the correct policies and procedures for administering medications. Topics will include but are not limited to, drug interactions, side effects, administration of liquids and pills, subcutaneous injections and topical treatments. Controlled substances and documentation will be addressed. Other topics to be discussed and practice will be dosage calculations, unit dose administration, and the proper disposal of unused medications. Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to take the North Carolina Adult Care Medication Test.
