Piedmont Community College’s new faculty and professional staff are getting some help learning about the College and how it functions through monthly orientation sessions that are being offered this year. The employees participate in tours of both the Person County Campus and the Caswell County Campus and attend sessions on topics such as employee benefits, College procedures, campus safety, College programs, mini-grants, campus safety and other such topics. “The purpose of the orientation for new faculty and professional staff is to help them be better informed about the College and how it functions, to have a broader understanding of employee benefits and services, and to increase their knowledge about services and programs available to students, faculty, and staff,” said Dr. Sherry Stewart, PCC Dean, who serves as orientation co-facilitator along with Mike Dossett, Vice President, Instruction and Student Development.

Participants in this year’s orientation class are: Christopher Deal, instructor, reading; Lisa Elliott, instructor, medical assisting; Steven Funderburk, financial aid specialist; Adrienne Knowles, instructor, English; Kelli Lennon, instructor, nursing; Amy Levine, instructor, art; Nicholas Ogada, instructor, international business; Gene Ritter, director, Admissions and Records; Roland Roberts, instructor, electrical/electronics; and Darrell Spells, instructor, chemistry.
