Nurse Aide Level I

The Nurse Aide I training program prepares you to be able to provide personal care and perform basic nursing skills for the elderly and other adults. Upon successful completion of this 160-hour course, you will be eligible to take the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Competency Examination. The successful completion of the written and skills exam is required for listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry. Individuals must be listed on the Nurse Aide Registry to fulfill employment requirements in the health care industry as a Nurse Aide I in North Carolina.  The Nurse Aide I course includes 20 hours of orientation, 32 hours of off-site clinical, and 108 hours of classroom work and skills training.

Nurse Aide Level I Refresher
Students whose listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry has expired within the past 3 years or students who are currently listed on another state’s registry and seek listing on the N.C. Nurse Aide I Registry are eligible to enroll in this 40 hour course. The course provides a review and update of the proper techniques for providing personal care and basic nursing skills. Upon the successful completion of this refresher course and the state competency evaluation, students are eligible for listing on the NC Nurse Aide I Registry. www.ncnar.org

Medication Administration Exam Prep for Unlicensed Personnel (Med Tech)

Med Tech prepares unlicensed personnel to take the North Carolina Adult Care Medication Test that enables them to give medications in adult care homes, assisted living facilities and group homes.  Course content includes 15 hours of skills training required by State of North Carolina.

Nurse Aide Level II
Students are taught to perform at a more complex skill level when attending to patients or residents regardless of the setting. This course includes class, laboratory, and clinical learning experiences.  Upon satisfactory completion of the course and skill/competency evaluation, students are eligible to apply for listing as a Nurse Aide II by the NC Board of Nursing.  
PREREQUISITE:  High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (GED®) and listed on the NC Nurse Aide I Registry with no allegations of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of property.  www.ncbon.org
