Classes offered at no charge for the Unemployed or Underemployed

There are a variety of services available through the Human Resources Development (HRD) Program for unemployed and underemployed individuals, including computer literacy, job search classes, and potential financial aid opportunities.

Financial Assistance:  Youth
PCC is a Workforce Investment Act (WIA) contractor in Person and Caswell Counties. Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds are available for qualifying youth who have been laid off from their jobs or are economically disadvantaged. These funds assist with the costs of tuition, books, fees, training-related equipment, and travel to and from classes. Individuals who are economically disadvantaged may also qualify for emergency financial assistance to help with other expenses.

Free Classes for GED® Test Prep

Adult Basic Skills (ABS) provides instruction in:
  • Basic reading, writing and math
  • Pre-reading to high school completion levels
  • GED® Prep for GED® testing
  • College Academic Readiness
  • English as a Second Language
  • Basic Skills Plus

To register students will need:
  • Social security number or tax identification number
  • Current, government issued picture ID or drivers license
