Human Resources Development (HRD)

HRD provides a variety of services to help individuals find employment, including classes to assist the unemployed and underemployed in gaining new skills and/or upgrading existing skill sets. HRD classes are provided at no charge to those meeting eligibility requirements for the HRD Fee waiver

The following courses focus on job search skills and finding employment:

Career Exploration
(15 hours): Identify your interests, abilities, and aptitudes as they relate to careers, employment, and educational goals. Explore potential jobs by learning about average earnings, required educational levels, and common job duties associated with careers of interest.  

Job Search on the Internet (18 hours): Improve your Internet job-seeking skills by learning techniques for performing Internet job searches, completing Internet job applications, and creating resumes and cover letters. Today's job seekers must have the skills necessary to apply for job openings online and this class takes students through each step of this process.
