Fees and Policy

Registration

Registration fees are established in compliance with North Carolina law and vary according to the type and length of course. Current registration fees are:

Occupational Extension Courses  0-24 hours, $65; 25-50 hours, $120; and 51+ hours, $175.
PCC waives tuition for one Occupational Extension course per semester for person age 65 years or older and who are NC residents.

Self Supporting Courses
Self Supporting course fees vary. Please consult the course schedule for registration fees. Tuition waivers may not be used for Self Supporting courses.

Refund Policy

A student who officially withdraws from a course prior to the first day of class, or if the course is canceled, will be eligible for a 100 percent refund, if requested. A 75 percent refund shall be made if the student officially withdraws from the course on the first day of the course, or prior to the official 10 percent point, if requested. No refund is available after the 10 percent point. In order to receive a refund, the student must officially withdraw from the class.

Repeat Policy

State regulations require that students who take an Occupational Extension course more than twice within a five-year period shall pay a registration fee based on self-supporting rates, not the Occupational Extension Fee Schedule. For a job-related course taken more than twice in a five-year period, students must pay for the course at the higher self-supporting rate, unless the student is required to repeat the course for certification or license renewal.
