ABS Online

ABS Online Instruction

The Adult Basic Skills (ABS) Online classes for HiSET® and GED® test preparation are offered in a hybrid format (online and face-to-face instruction). Students must participate online 6 hours per week and in face-to-face meetings with instructors. Students need a computer with Internet access, basic computer/Internet knowledge and the time and self-discipline to study consistently. The use of computers at Piedmont Community College’s Learning Resource Center is also available to students as well as in the online lab sessions offered weekly on both campuses. The online program is FREE.

To participate, students need:

  • basic computer skills,
  • a computer with Internet access or transportation to campus to attend online labs using PCC library computers,
  • to be able to complete a minimum of 6 hours online per week, and
  • to be able meet with an assigned instructor for face-to-face orientation, placement and progress testing, and instructional support/training

To register, students will need:
  • Social security number or tax identification number
  • Current, government issued photo ID or driver's license
