A partnership between Piedmont Community College and Person County was formed to develop the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex on Main Street in uptown Roxboro in 2010. The complex includes an Art Gallery, Theater and Fine Arts Classrooms, all located in a historic facility.
The PCC Foundation has initiated the Kirby Rebirth: Upstairs-Uptown project to renovate the second floor of the Kirby Cultural Arts Complex.

This photo was taken on 7-28-14 and shows demolition in the future Studio area.
In this new area Piedmont Community College hopes to include a multipurpose room that will be available for theater productions, business retreats, family reunions, lecture series and additional classroom space. Other areas of the newly renovated space can be used for an additional art gallery, instructor offices and an artist-in-residence program and/or studio rentals.
To become ADA compliant, renovation of this space will cost a minimum of $240,000. Supplementary funding will be used for additional renovation purposes or for specific programs, such as a prospective artist-in-residence series.
