Piedmont Community College is required to notify the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) of changes in accordance with the SACSCOC substantive change policy and, when required, seek approval prior to the initiation of changes.
Substantive change is a significant modification or expansion in the nature and scope of an accredited institution. The types of substantive change and the procedures for addressing them appropriately may be found in the Commission’s Policy on Substantive Change
PCC is also required to have a policy and procedure to ensure that all substantive changes are reported to the Commission in a timely fashion. PCC’s Substantive Change Policy 2.28
