Youth Entrepreneurship Camp to be held at PCC
Registration is currently open for the 2014 Youth Entrepreneurship Camp, sponsored by Piedmont Community College’s Business Development and Entrepreneurship Center (BDEC). The camp will be held June 23-27 from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on PCC’s Person County Campus.
The week-long camp will introduce students to the concept of entrepreneurship as a career opportunity. Students will work together to create and name a business, develop a product line, and market their business through business cards, flyers, billboards and a commercial. Local business leaders will share their knowledge, expertise and advice. Students will also have the chance to visit a local manufacturing facility to get a first-hand view of the production process. At the conclusion of camp, students will present their business ideas to a panel.
The camp is offered at no cost to participants. Registration, which includes a camp T-shirt and lunch each day, is open to the first 20 aspiring entrepreneurs. For more information, contact Charlene Wilson at 599-0032, ext. 206 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The camp is sponsored by Piedmont Community College and the BDEC with partners Diamond Candles and Furniture Mart and in-kind contributors Golden Corral and Pepsi.
