25 Ways to Get Involved at Piedmont Community College

  1. Sign up for a class (Curriculum or Continuing Education) and keep on learning!
  2. Help recruit future PCC students and encourage prospective students to visit PCC campuses and programs.
  3. Hire PCC students and graduates. Advertise job openings on PCC's Career Connection website.
  4. Mentor current PCC students.
  5. Provide career networking or co-op work opportunities. Allow students to "job shadow." Participate in PCC Job Fairs.
  6. Host a PCC event, such as an alumni gathering, at your home or business.
  7. Update your mailing address, e-mail address, job information, birth of children, etc. by visiting the PCC Alumni website (www.piedmontcc.edu) or calling (336) 599-1181, ext. 207.
  8. Wear clothing with the PCC logo and display PCC logo items at home and at work. Purchase PCC logo items as gifts from the PCC Bookstore.
  9. Be sure you local school is well informed about PCC. Offer to meet with counselors, teachers, or students.
  10. Help the Alumni Office locate "lost" alumni. Encourage alumni to keep records up to date.
  11. Become knowledgeable about PCC scholarships and other student assistance available at PCC.
  12. Write a letter of recommendation for a student applying for a PCC scholarship.
  13. Volunteer to serve on a PCC Advisory Committee for a curriculum program of study or as a co-advisor for PCC student clubs and organizations.
  14. Keep PCC's program needs in mind if your company or one you know about has appropriate surplus equipment to donate.
  15. Tutor students through the Student Success Center.
  16. Serve as a teacher assistant in the classroom.
  17. Help PCC students with special needs.
  18. Share your particular expertise by serving as a guest lecturer for a PCC class.
  19. Identify future leaders for the Alumni Cabinet and other PCC advisory committees.
  20. Attend and promote PCC activities.
  21. Contact a former instructor and say thanks for his/her teaching and mentoring.
  22. Encourage friends and classmates to attend PCC Alumni events or other College events.
  23. Register to receive a free e-mail address for life through PCC.
  24. Read PCC Curriculum and Continuing Education schedule publications and share the information with others.
  25. Tell others what PCC has meant to you-whenever you can, however you can.
